He
was
born
1828
in
Jasper
county,
Ga.,
and
is
a
twin
brother
of
J.
P.
Rees.
He
has
composed
a
large
number
of
sacred
tunes.
His
first
tune
for
the
Sacred
Harp
was
"Traveling
Pilgrim,"
see page
278.
Last
one,

550.
Mr
Rees
has
been
engaged
as
a
minister
over
fifty
years.
He
is
a
good
man:
much
beloved
by
all
who
know
him,
especially
by
church
people,
and
those
who
love
sacred
songs.
He
is
now,
1911,
eighty-four
years
of
age.
