Thus
far
the
Lord
hath
led
me
on,
Thus
far
his
power
prolong
my
days;
And
ev-ery
eve-ning
shall
make
known
Some
fresh
me-mo-rial
of
his
grace.
2.
Much
of
my
time
has
run
to
waste,
And
I,
per-haps,
am
near
my
home;
But
he
for-gives
my
fol-lies
past,
And
gives
me
strength
for
days
to
come.
3.
I
lay
my
bod
-
y
down
to
sleep:
Peace
is
the
pil
-
low
for
my
head;
While
well-ap-point-ed
an
-
gels
keep
Their
watchful
sta-tions
round
my
bed.
4.
Thus,
when
the
night
of
death
shall
come,
My
flesh
shall
rest
beneath
the
ground,
And
wait
thy
voice
to
rouse
my
tomb,
With
sweet
sal-va-tion
in
the
sound.
